Yesterday Dale (KC8ZXF) took the remote back to the Davison Fire hall to get it re-installed. After he got it all hooked up, he found that it would receive properly but not transmit. It worked fine when it was on the workbench at his house, but when it was back in place, for some reason it wouldn't work. He called around to a few people to see if they could transmit into it while he was looking at it and Clay (KF8UI) was able to help him test. It didn't make any sense. It was working fine when I went out to test last week, but all the sudden it wouldn't transmit.
So Dale took it back home to look at it some more and Clay came over to see if he could figure anything out. They wiggled every wire possible, unplugged and plugged in every possible plug and then all the sudden it started working again. Just another reason why we need to gather funds to upgrade our equipment.
Since Clay was already there, he also started to wire up the PL board for the MSR 2000 project. He wasn't able to finish it, but we're just another step closer to replacing the repeater.
