The Fenton remote was unresponsive. Mike (KB8RVP) went to the Fenton site and reset the tripped GFCI and that brought the remote back online.
Dale (KC8ZXF) and Adam (W8DEV) went to the repeater site to finish working on the ATV computer. The video card was replaced and successfully allowed the ATV TV to be used as a second monitor for the computer. The custom reset trigger was moved from the reset switch of the computer to the power switch. After running several tests, everything was working as it should. It looks like the ATV computer project is complete now.
We had an engineering meeting and discussed current projects as well as future projects.
The ATV computer project was at 98%. All that was left was to replace the video card in the computer and change the reset control to use the power switch instead of the reset switch. The 26 repeater The MSR 2000 Motorola repeater is a crystal based radio. The crystals have been sent in, re-tuned and returned. We need to get some connectors as well as some 9 conductor wire. Al (WB8YOB) and Clay (KF8UI) came up with 4 of the connectors needed. Clay also mentioned that he had the DB9 connectors, but we are still in need of about 8 feet of the 9 conductor wire. Al believes he might have the needed cable. A PL board needs to be purchased to encode/decode tones for the repeater. The current PL board in the 2000 is a reed based board and a 100hz reed has not been found. 220 and 440 Antenna at McLaren Clay agrees that the 220 antenna needs to be replaced but he doesn't believe there's any issue with the 440 antenna. He's going to take an antenna analyzer and verify it's condition. Voter We discussed the voter for quite some time. We've noticed there's a problem, specifically during the ATV Digital Net where people try to send images and they end up keying up multiple remote sites (because they're on base stations transmitting more than 5 watts) and that distorts the image. The remotes are only in place for HT access to the repeater from anywhere in the county. It's been brought up on and off for quite some time and a decision was made to take care of the issue. We're going to change the PL tone at the remote sites to be 88.5hz and leave the main site to be 100hz. That way people using HTs can set their tone to be 88.5hz and be able to access the remotes. If people have base/mobile stations, they typically have enough power to be able to reach the main site without the remotes, so they'll be set to 100hz. No date has been set as to when the changes will be made. Echolink We're going to look at getting echolink up and running on the 26. The interface and radio are already available, we just need to make the harness between the two. Tim (KC8OYE) volunteered to make the harness. The 100 repeater MSCG has 2 CDM 750 R radios and the plan is to get them wired up to replace the transmitters temporarily on the 100 machine. Funds As you can see, there was a lot discussed and lots of work to do! There's lots of things to be purchased and we discussed how to fund the changes. Someone suggested setting up a GoFundMe page to help raise some funds. |
