Have you ever wondered what people were talking about when they were talking about the remotes? Here's an image of what the remotes look like. This one in particular is the Davison remote. You can think of them as mini-repeaters. They take the signal from the outlying areas of the count and re-transmit it back to the main repeater in Flint. I've heard a lot of people from other counties talk about how great of coverage we have with the 26.
So here's the breakdown of what you see in the image:
It's a pretty simple setup. It takes some work to maintain them, but so far they've bene pretty reliable.
We're thankful for the use of the fire halls around the county that let us put these remotes up.

So here's the breakdown of what you see in the image:
- The small box on top of the stack is a micro-controller that's used to ID and I believe it injects a PL tone for re-transmission (If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me).
- Motorola GM300 VHF setup as a receiver to receive the 147.86, 88.5 hz PL
- Motorola GM300 UHF setup to transmit to the primary site in Flint
- Astron 12A power supply
It's a pretty simple setup. It takes some work to maintain them, but so far they've bene pretty reliable.
