Howdy all.
Sorry, it's been a week since I updated the blog. Been kinda busy. Last Monday night (6/29) Dale (KC8ZXF), Clay (KF8UI) and myself went to the EOC to get some new PCs online that were donated to us. I was actually going to get them online on the 23rd after our meeting but they were still locked down from their use in the county building and the 29th was the earliest we could get up there.
The Echolink computer was the first machine that came to mind needing an upgrade. I knew that computer was pretty old and running out of space.
It was a fairly simple upgrade (once we found a USB keyboard and mouse we could use). Dale calibrated the audio levels on the computer using Ham Scope.
We did notice that there was a muffled sound whenever you talk from Echolink to the 26. We still have to look into what's causing that. We changed every setting we could think of to see if we could remove it and we couldn't figure it out. I'll probably end up bringing in another sound card just to test and see if it's the card that's the problem.
I know it will be nice not having to worry if the computer is running out of processing power or hard drive space.
As always, let me know if you notice any other issues.
