Howdy all.
Well I spent some time before (and during) the training session tonight to try and re-work how I was passing audio through the Alinco 235. I ended up splitting up my DB9 connection and getting the RX audio from the DB9 and wiring a new 8-pin jack for the TX audio and the audio levels are up to normal levels. I ran a few tests with Clay (KF8UI) and Tony (W8CCT) and they confirmed the audio level is acceptable.
So, now that we're fully online, something to note currently is that the controller is setup to disconnect the 220 repeater (where the Echolink connection comes from) anytime a macro is brought up. This is done to prevent problematic connections/check-ins during active nets (Skywarn/Public Service/etc). We're still discussing whether or not we're going to change this policy or not. If we can get it working, I would like to see it setup so that the Echolink connection can monitor the 26 during a macro-based net, but Echolink connections cannot transmit over the 26. Like I said, we still need to sit down and discuss the pros/cons of leaving it active.
Hopefully everyone enjoys using Echolink. I'm still curious who all uses it and what your experiences. Lemme know!
